The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron - Julie Cannon Photography

Recently I was told about a book called The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron.  It is an inspirational book which encourages the reader to follow a 12 week program to help nurture their creativity and work towards their artistic goals.  Well really just not artistic goals, I think it will help you work towards any goal.    When I first started to read this book, I didn’t connect with everything that Julia Cameron was saying, but I did connect to the parts of it that most related to my personal  photography journey.     I have decided to give the program a try and initially just follow two of the things suggested in the book and see how it goes.  The first is  to write “my morning pages”  These pages are where you just write what is on your mind without worrying about whether it makes sense or the spelling or grammar are correct.  It is a way of just ‘dumping’ all of your thoughts, doubts and dreams on a piece of paper so you can see them there right before your eyes.  It is amazing what these morning pages do reveal about what you really think about yourself, your talent and what you can achieve.   The second activity is to set aside time […]
