Loom measures 11 wide x 14.75 tall (28cm x 37.5cm) and is made from a sturdy maple wood. The top and bottom edges are raised to keep the weaving lifted away from the frame. The spacing of the warp threads makes it easy for small hands to weave on, but can be double and triple warped to grow with them (instructions in booklet). They can weave with the included weaving needle or their fingers. The loom is finished in a non-toxic kid-safe paint. The kit ships with its own box for easy gift giving.

Weaving helps your child develop important fine motor and problem solving skills. Most kids can weave starting at the age of 7 with adult help. You know your child best. If you think their motor skills are developed enough to weave, then they can start younger than age 7.
