As an early childhood teacher, I have experimented with many, many brands of watercolor paper over the years, when doing wet-on-wet watercolor painting with my students. It was often a frustrating experience. Some paper was thin, others would pill when a child spent more than a few minutes on his painting; edges would curl; or the paper would dry crinkly or wavy.
