Tachikawa

Tachikawa, a town located 30 minutes away by train from Shinjuku, is one of the biggest towns in the western area of Tokyo. It has the atmosphere of a futuristic city with department stores, shopping malls and office buildings lined up by the station. On the other hand, the Showa Memorial Park is a 10-minute walk so there are plenty of suburban benefits such as being able to enjoy the richness of nature. It has become a competitive area for ramen shops and izakaya (taverns), which makes it a good place for enjoying some excellent gourmet.
