The eighty colours of the Sennelier Plein Air Set were carefully chosen for their ability to mix to create the broadest range of landscape colours possible. These 80 extra-fine soft pastels of 100% pure pigment are half-sized in length but fatter in width than a standard full stick. It took over three years at the turn of the 20th Century to formulate the Sennelier range of Extra Soft Pastels ' l'ecu' and thus to create one of the largest chromatic range of pastels.
