The contents of the tin give off an agreeable scent of almonds which older users will recall from Pelikanol, the earlier German product in wide use. These practical universal adhesives for home and office are based on potato starch and have been in use since the 1920s. One has survived in Italy with the name of Colla bianca solida per ufficio moderno. A nice touch: The tin features a cylinder in the middle to hold a brush for applying the adhesive. Container with 125 g.

Coccoina Glue Stick This elegant glue stick with a pleasant marzipan scent tells a bit of stationery history. In 1927, Italian businessman Aldo Balma invented a new unbreakable aluminum packaging for solid glue in order to compete with the common glue sold in glass jars at the time. The ingenious aluminum can featured a brush holder in the middle of the can with a brush that could deploy thin layers of the glue.
