Not everyone has, loves or can afford tools like the giffin grip. For turning basic shapes this foam batt stops your pots from sliding on the wheel head. If you have pins on your wheel head you can just drill through the plastic base to fit or if not then press the base onto a clay pad on your wheel head. Great addition to the studio without costing a fortune.
