Molding Paste can also be used to create foundations for painting either to create texture over a smoother surface, or to smooth out a textured surface. The absorbent qualities of Molding Paste make it suitable as a ground for nearly every painting and drawing media. This paste is excellent for building surfaces and creating textures. This medium dries to a hard, yet flexible, opaque film and blends with colors to tint and extend paint.

Light Molding Paste

Ceracolors Fiber Paste can be added to Ceracolors to paint thickly and to build impastos of wax. Fiber Paste contains mineral fibers and while its appearance is gray, it can be tinted with any Ceracolors paint. Add Ceracolors Fiber Paste to Ceracolors paint for thick, impasto-like applications of paint. Ceracolors Fiber Paste is less dense than Molding Paste, hence can be used to create light textured impastos. Besides low density, the mineral fibers provide a papier-mâché texture.
