A large antique Italian ex voto sacred heart. Circa 1800's. This is a gorgeous old piece that was sourced in Italy. Made of thin silver colored metal. With a flame on top and a heart in the center with the letters GR. (Gracia Recibido- Grace Received.) Ex votos are also known as milagros (miracles) and are religious charms used in the Latin-based Catholic part of the Old World, Italy included, as votive offerings and for giving thanks to miracles received.
