We are calling all Sparkies out there! This one is especially for you! But anyone that uses spools of cable, wire, or string. Who am I kidding!? Anything on a spool. How about barbed wire for you ranchers and farmers out there?! Okay, okay. Enough chit-chat. Let’s get down to the details.
This kit transforms your simple Milwaukee Packout Crate into a lean mean spool storing machine! With the included hardware, you can quickly drill four holes and secure the two CNC-made HDPE holders to the side of your crate. The bolt head should go inside the crate and install in the hex sockets. Use a wrench or a socket to tighten the nuts and installation is complete! The XL version comes with two 1 bolts that act as Jacking Studs to bring the sides into plumb. The Packout Crate has a draft angle when they are injection molded. These bolts allow you to tighten them to bring the sides nice and vertical. This allows you to cut a single-length conduit and use it for the entire height of the spool holder.
The HDPE parts are precision milled on our state-of-the-art CNC machines giving perfect tolerances for an extremely satisfying “click” when the conduits are installed. This “click” comes from specially designed geometry to hold the conduit sections in place while still being easily installed and removed.
We have released two versions of our STV Racking™ Crate Spool Kit. We have our Standard size and also our XL version. The XL version gives you a bit more capacity and versatility.
The kit DOES NOT come with any 1/2 EMT conduit. This will need to be supplied by the customer. With the sides of the Packout being tapered, the length of the conduit is important. You can easily cut your own. We have found the following dimensions to be the best:
Standard:
The top two rows of notches - 15 - 9/16” long
The bottom two rows of notches - 15 - 7/16” long
*you could split the difference and go with 15.5” long but the bottom row is pretty snug and the top row has a little too much play and may slip up or down.
