Smudging is a cleansing ceremony used to help people, places, or even objects get rid of negative energy or even bad spirits. 

It is best to start in one room and work your way through your entire house. Make sure you have windows open throughout so the negative energies have a way of being emitted from your home. 

Light your sage smudging stick and Let it burn until smoke starts to emit from it. I would suggest having a small ceramic dish below your sage. It will help when your walking around your home so the ashes don’t fall to the floor.

Once your Smudging stick is lit , keep your intentions in mind and with the stick in your hand, make your way through each room of your home and space. Cleaning each room of the negative energy and adding your positive intentions and energy. 

Sage also helps clear bacteria’s from the air and will also help keep mosquitoes away. If you are at a non fire just throw a few pieces of your sage into the fire. The aromatic smells help keep pesky bugs away.
