DescriptionA pair of wooden boards that are wedged shaped. 3.75" deep and are used to assist in backing (the process of shaping a ridge or shoulder on each side of the spine of a text block a book, which the cover boards will later slip into), just as the name implies. The upper edge of the board is beveled (or wedge shaped) away from the center, thus allowing the outer sections or leaves on both sides of the text block to be bent.
