If you enjoy playing with color and pattern, you’ll love exploring the endless designs you can create using gel plate printing. Gel printing—a form of monoprinting—uses layering of paint, stencil, and texture tools on a silicone plate to create printed papers that can be used for card making, collage, and art journal pages. Students will learn gel printing basics and take home their own gel plate, along with their printed pages. Leaves will be used as the foundation for creating beautiful botanical prints. They look, feel, and react like a gelatin plate, but are made of a unique plastic that contains mineral oil. They do not contain any latex or animal products.
