It will keep your fence looking great year after year. 9ga. chain link wire has a wire thickness of approximately .148" thick and is typically used for premium residential or commercial applications. The higher the gauge, the thinner the diameter of the wire; so, 11ga. wire is thinner than 9ga, which is thinner than 8ga, etc. 9ga wire is typically considered the standard when it comes to commercial chain link fencing. It is used in a wide variety of circumstances, from prison yards to baseball fields. This is the wire most chosen by professional fence contractors for commercial projects due to its durability and strength. Galvanized Before Weave (GBW) wire is galvanized when the wire is still in strand form, before it is woven into chain link fabric. GBW wire eliminates sharp burrs, or icicles, which are common with Galvanized After Weave (GAW) wire, and are formed as zinc residue from the galvanization process hardens before it completely drips off of the fabric. We sell chain link wire in 50' rolls only, but splicing two sections of wire together is as easy as weaving a single strand between the sections to connect them. In Knuckle-Twist, the ends of the chain link wire are twisted together, leaving their sharp edges exposed. Knuckle-Knuckle is often used for backyard fencing and sport field fencing because it is safer; it reduces the chance of getting caught on the wire edge and tearing your skin. Knuckle-Twist, on the other hand is more effective as a perimeter guard fence because it has a more menacing look that discourages fence climbers. Note: Chain link mesh size is measured from edge to edge, not corner to corner. This fence is a standard 2" mesh, so the diagonal, parallel wires are spaced 2" apart.
