This is 1/4 inch black braided elastic, which is sold in 5 yard bundles. So for every 1 unit, you will receive 5 yards, 2 units - 10 yards, etc. This elastic is great for making homemade masks and other crafty applications. This is not medical grade elastic. The elastic is 70% Polyester and 30% rubber, if exposed to too much heat the rubber will start to soften and could snap and melt. The tension of this braided elastic is pretty high, so it is a rigid elastic, similar to scrunchie elastic. This is not knit elastic, that can withstand heavy periods of intense stretching. If you are making masks for hospitals, or looking for medical grade I recommend looking for a knit elastic.
