They have been used in applications at temperatures as low as -269C (-452F) and as high as 260C (500F). They possess a unique combination of electrical, thermal, chemical, and mechanical properties that withstand extreme temperatures, vibration, and other demanding environments. Kapton Tapes have a high dielectric strength. The silicon adhesive protection leaves no residue.

JVCC EGPF-01 Kapton Polyimide Film Tape is a 1 mil electrical grade Kapton alternative POLYIMIDE film coated with a high-performance silicone adhesive. It is a wave solder/hot air leveling tape used to protect gold contacts on printed circuit boards from molten solder during hot air wave solder leveling process. It is thin and conformable, with outstanding tear and abrasion resistance at elevated temperatures. Adhesive will thermoset to increase adhesion values.
